My promise to the people of our district.
Our leaders in Washington have failed us time and time again. But, as Democrats, we cannot just be anti-Trump and anti-Tom Kean Jr.; we need to be for something.
So, here is what I will be for when I represent NJ-07 in Congress.
I will be for your family and fight for your children just like I fight for my own. As a mom, I understand what it’s like to raise a family when it feels like the cost of everything is constantly going up. From groceries to housing to childcare, I know that families across our district are feeling the impacts of inflation in their everyday lives. We are facing a cost-of-living crisis in this country, and it’s time we take action to make life in New Jersey more affordable for all of us.
I will be for ending corruption and getting money out of politics. I have not taken a dime of corporate PAC money, and I never will. There is a lot we need to do to stop the spread of corruption in our government, starting with banning members of Congress from trading stocks and ending Citizens United.
I will be for the health of all of our loved ones. When I was growing up, my grandmother was able to move into a senior facility and receive the care she needed because of Medicaid. I know how important it is for families to take care of each other and how expensive it can be without support. We should be able to afford to take care of the people we love, whether that be young children, disabled family members, or elderly parents. I will make sure this is possible and that New Jersey families feel supported to take care of one another.
Most of all, I will be for you. I love this country, and I want to make sure we leave it better than we found it for our children. I want my daughters to grow up in a world where every kid has a fair shot at the American Dream, and I believe we can make that happen.
We have to solve the problems we are facing in our everyday lives, and we need to solve them now. We can’t wait another ten years, and we can’t wait for someone else to do it.
It’s up to us. We can’t stand by any longer.
We need a new generation of leadership in Washington that understands the urgency of this moment and is ready to act accordingly to create change.
I promise you that I will be a part of that new generation. In Congress, I will fight for you.
So, let’s go win this race. We have work to do.
