Our Daughters Are Watching
A reflection on four years since the Dobbs decision.
Today marks four years since the Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs decision, ending nearly fifty years of federal protection for reproductive rights.
I remember exactly how I felt when that decision came down. I was angry, heartbroken, and worried about what kind of country my daughters would grow up in.
As someone who works in healthcare, I have seen firsthand what happens when women lose access to reproductive care. I have heard the stories – women denied emergency care because their physicians feared prosecution, doctors afraid to do their jobs, families forced to travel hundreds of miles for basic healthcare. These are real consequences, and they are happening right now.
New Jersey still has its protections because New Jersey fought for them. But that fight is far from over.
Tom Kean Jr. has voted against codifying Roe v. Wade in Washington and in Trenton. He has voted to punish doctors who provide abortions with criminal penalties. He is a direct threat to the freedoms that New Jersey families depend on.
Our daughters deserve the freedoms we had. Every person should have the right to make their own healthcare decisions, and every family should have the security of knowing that deeply personal choices remain exactly that – personal.
I’m running so my daughters grow up with the same rights, access to healthcare, and freedom I had. In Congress, I will fight to codify Roe at the federal level, protect birth control, IVF, and contraception, and expand maternal care and postpartum support across New Jersey and this country.
Women make up fifty percent of this country. We deserve proportional representation in Congress.
On this anniversary, I think about my daughters and every young person growing up in America today. When their rights were threatened, we organized. We voted. We stood up and fought back.
I will never stop fighting until reproductive freedom is protected for every person, in every state.
Our daughters are watching.

Are you aware that the Biden-Harris administration fought against publishing the ERA in court, just as Trump did? https://feministstruggle.org/tag/attorney-wendy-murphy/
"the Biden Administration continued obstructing its publication and has fought it in court like the Trump Administration did, despite claiming support for the ERA and women’s rights when campaigning. This is especially outrageous considering the fact that the Dobbs decision overturning Roe would not have been possible had the ERA been in the Constitution."
PLEASE DEMAND IMMEDIATE DEBATES WITH KEAN. The public must see him on the hot seat. He has hidden too long. If he is too sick then he should retire.
